How did you get to WVPY?
That is a bit of a story. I had a friend who told me that she thought I would really love WVPY. I had never taken a yoga class, much less a hot yoga, but she knew that I practiced many of the poses on my own. I was a little resistant, but decided to try. I paid the $30 intro fee for ‘all you can fit in’ for two weeks and here I am. However, the side story is that I would have never continued except, “I did pay the $30…” By the end of the two weeks I was hooked. Meanwhile, my friend stopped. Immediately at the end of the two weeks I took a personal lesson from Jessica. That cemented my member decision. Her support showed me that I could be successful with this program. I learned that it was not only okay but a ‘must’ to develop your own pace in connection to breath.
What makes you laugh the most? My children, grandchildren, husband, and friends; I like to laugh!
What is your guilty pleasure? Sitting quietly in the sun; listening, feeling, being; It is the best.
What are 3 things you’d take on a deserted island? My children, grandchildren, husband, and friends; I like to laugh! (Notice a pattern?)
When you’re not on your mat where can we find you? You might find me at work. I teach at WOU. Perhaps in my studio. My art is my passion. But most likely with: My children, grandchildren, husband, and friends; Ilike to laugh! A lot!
What is your greatest life lesson/learning so far? Life is short. Be intentional. Cherish relationships. Always work at making a difference. Take time to laugh or simply smile. It is the kindergarten lesson: Hold hands as we cross the street, together. We are a Team!
Why Baptiste Yoga? Certainly, this was an accident, initially (See question 1). However, now I stay because of the quality owners, teachers, and community. I always feel stronger, more centered, and more of who I am, when I leave the room. How many experiences can you say that about?
