Sandy came to practice yoga steadily in 2013 after a running injury. What started as a "replacement" for running, turned into a practice and a transformation for her. Yoga strengthened her body but more importantly began to challenge her sense of self. Yoga has become a way of life that she is inspired to share with friends. In 2016 Sandy completed Baptiste 200 hour Expand Your Power teacher training, and began teaching community classes at WVPY. She also completed WVPY internal training, and became an Assistant where she generously shares her love of connection with her community.Sandy loves that yoga is about infinite possibility, and being open for growth. She loves the power of WE and what that shared energy does for students. Her goals include learning to be strongly kind and authentic to all who enter her life. When Sandy is not sharing in the studio she is a Deputy Fire Marshall with Albany Fire Department (encourages her firefighter coworkers to practice with her), a wife of 19 years to Andrew, and a mom to Owen and Carter. For fun, Sandy still runs, hikes, paddle boards, and travels with her family.
