Jessica’s yoga journey began about 10 years ago when she found a yoga video on the television. All it took was one video and she was hooked. Soon after she attended a couple of classes at a gym, took a yoga class in college, and tried doing yoga at home, but never really found any style or setting that spoke to her until she took her first class at Willamette Valley Power Yoga. It was here that she was able to find support in a community, deepen her practice, and explore her passion for yoga. In the spring of 2018, Jessica decided to take her love and passion for yoga and the Baptiste style and receive her 200-hour teacher-training certificate through the Be Bold Teacher Training.
Jessica appreciates the many physical benefits that yoga offers in building muscle strength and increasing flexibility. However, for her yoga is much more than the physical practice. She loves yoga because of the duality between the physical and the practice of self-reflection as a way of healing both body and soul. This is reflected in her classes as she explores self-reflection and self-awareness all while providing a very powerful physical practice.
When she is not practicing or teaching yoga Jessica can be found outside hiking or gardening or curled up on the couch with her dog and a good book.
